Shopify · AI for supplement stores
AI customer service for supplements, vitamins, and CBD brands.
Handles dosage questions, ingredient context, allergen disclosure, subscription management, and FDA-safe disclaimers — all within guardrails you configure once.
Two-minute install. Free tier with full safety rails.
The short answer
Yes — and it’s FDA-safe by design. Clearly Agent describes ingredients and dosage from your labels but routes any “should I take this?” question to your consult-your-doctor disclaimer, repeats only the structure-function claims you’ve approved, applies per-state CBD rules by shipping location, and remembers allergies across visits. Subscriptions change only within the scope you authorize. Free tier.
Supplement-specific use cases
Ingredient & dosage questions
Agent answers from label info and your dosage guidance, with FDA-safe disclaimer (“we can't give medical advice — consult your doctor”).
Stacking & routine recommendations
Agent reads your product compatibility notes and answers within the guardrails. Routes complex stacking questions to live takeover.
Allergen & dietary disclosure
Agent answers from your product tags + certifications. Memory persists — once a customer mentions an allergy, never recommends a product containing it.
Subscription management
Agent looks up the subscription (ReCharge / Bold / native Shopify) and either confirms changes or escalates depending on what you authorize.
Pregnancy & nursing safety
Highly regulated. Agent does NOT give medical advice — routes to your “consult your doctor” disclaimer + curated collection.
Drug interaction warnings
Agent explicitly does NOT advise; routes to “we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider” + offers to email your pharmacist contact.
FDA-safe by design
- Never gives medical advice — routes "should I take this?" questions to your "consult your doctor" disclaimer.
- Only repeats FDA-approved structure-function claims you've entered; never invents disease claims.
- Per-state CBD compliance — detects shipping state and applies your configured restrictions.
- Allergy memory persists across visits (GDPR-compliant cookie); never recommends contraindicated products.
- Subscription changes require your explicit authorization scope — no unilateral cancellations.
FAQ
- Can the agent give medical advice?
- No — and it's designed not to. The agent describes products and ingredients, but for "should I take this?" questions, it routes to your "consult your doctor" disclaimer. Configure this once in the brand voice settings; applies to every response that crosses the medical-advice line. Critical for FDA-safe operation in the supplement space.
- How does it handle FDA structure-function vs medical claims?
- Only repeats claims you've entered into the knowledge base. Won't invent claims about a product. If you've added "supports immune function" as your approved structure-function claim, agent uses it. Won't say "treats colds" because that's a disease claim it hasn't been told.
- What about CBD compliance per-state?
- You can configure state-specific notes ("not available in Idaho" or "21+ in Texas"). Agent applies them when the visitor's shipping state is detected. For visitors without detected location, defaults to your most-restrictive policy and offers to check on shipping at checkout.
- Can it remember a customer's allergies / restrictions across visits?
- Yes — customer memory persists per visitor (cookie, GDPR-compliant). Once told "I'm gluten-free", never recommends a gluten-containing product on future visits.
- How does it handle subscription changes vs full account access?
- Native Shopify subscriptions: agent can look up next ship date + product + price. For changes (skip, swap variant, cancel), it confirms what you authorize and either processes via Shopify's subscription API or escalates. ReCharge / Bold integrations: similar via their APIs. Configure scope in Settings → Subscriptions.
- What about international supplement regulations?
- Multilingual auto-detect (15+ languages). For region-specific restrictions (EU novel food rules, UK ASA advertising standards, Canadian NPN compliance), add region-specific notes once; agent applies based on visitor locale.
